The HOPE Chaplaincy trains and deploys volunteer chaplains. Our chaplains serve throughout the Caribbean. Our Caribbean office is situated in the HOPE Plaza, Nassau, Bahamas. Here are some steps you may take:

  • Pray about joining our initiative and completing a Chaplain Application.
  • Attend a Sharing HOPE in Crisis Seminar.
  • Complete Certification requirements with us.

Our chaplains serve:

  • Communities in times of crisis.
  • Police and Fire Departments.
  • Hospitals and Healthcare Centers.
  • Prisons, Jails, and Youth Centers.
  • Marketplace and Corporations.
  • School and University Campuses.

HOPE Chaplaincy attests to both competence and endorsement for the chaplain ministry. Membership is for Christians who are in agreement with our affirmation of faith and ethical statement. Our mission is to maintain an association for chaplains and to establish guidelines in the practice of this specialized ministry. The standards we have developed help to ensure truly faithful and effective Christian chaplains.

This program is useful for people who have no formal training in the field of chaplaincy but conduct prison, hospital and hospice care visits, or provide community support in a religious setting. The Basic Chaplain Training Program is beneficial for ministers who would like to incorporate volunteer chaplaincy work into their religious outreach program or the experienced chaplain who wants to continue with refresher training.

As a student, you will explore the theoretical, operational components of chaplaincy while learning from professionals with real-world experience. Students will learn how to function within an institutional setting, such as learning how to communicate with law enforcement and emergency service responders as well as receiving basic training in Christian counseling and crisis intervention. These powerful techniques are valuable when dealing with police, prison, and other emergency service personnel. Avoid the pitfalls that get chaplains fired from duty due to a lack of experience.
